| | July 7, 1998: Whoops, Disney Blast is still a no-go for Mickey-starved Mac users, but that should change by the end of the month. Meanwhile, the iMac's modem speed has finally been nailed down (we think), and the wacky Windows 98 tie-ins just keep getting wackier... | | |

Still Waiting To Blast (7/7/98)

Okay, we've gotten several reports from faithful viewers who, after yesterday's report that the Disney Blast site is now Mac-compatible, tried for themselves and failed miserably. We can only assume that when our source got in with no problems, Disney was testing the Mac-compatible version, but has since pulled it for more work. Sorry about that.
In fact, CNET reports that Disney now plans to have the Blast working on Macs by the end of this month; apparently, the announcement will come during this week's Expo, at which Disney will have their own booth. It sounds like whether or not the "iMac in every Disney resort room" rumor comes to fruition, Disney and Apple do have a partnership in the works, which CNET says "makes sense," since both companies are targeting the same general audience. Fair enough.
But just how far will this alleged partnership go? We at AtAT have no clue, but we expect to know after tomorrow's keynote-- we've received an anonymous tip that "Disney's Online president will be part of the keynote address." Oooh, top-secret-y! We dig all this intrigue... ;-)
